Dear Neighbors, Technology is a wonderful thing. These past few months, the technology committee has been working diligently to get a neighborhood email list up and running. Margie New, Byrne Benfield, and Judy Harrison have done a fabulous job of gathering emails addresses, setting up a system that ensures the security of the names, and preventing outside spam. This list also has helped to cut some costs for printing and mailing the newsletters. It may be a small amount, but it does help. Our intention of setting up the email list was to provide a way for the board to send out important information to the neighborhood in a timely fashion. It has been able to provide more than a means of communication. I have noticed property owners have been able to find assistance with finding contractors and alerting us about issues that come up from time to time. This is the original intention for the email list. There have been a few moments where we have used it to carry on a conversation about issues within Travis Landing. Sadly, this has caused a few people to drop off the email list that do not want to be inundated with extra emails. A way to avoid these extra emails is for us to re-energize our forum on the website. I admit that I forgot we have this little treasure. I plan from time to time to really start using the forum when a neighborhood conversation needs to take place. I encourage you to go to our website at www.tlpoa.org and register (if you have not done so already). If you have registered, take a few moments to go back and check it out. In our effort to keep the printing costs down, we have set up two email lists. One is the list neighborhood list that we will use for sending out general information and that anyone registered can respond or send to. We are keeping a more comprehensive list that will be used for sending out the newsletter and any important, time-sensitive information. This email list can only be used by the board to respect the desire of some of our property owners who want limited emails from TLPOA. I appreciate those of you who are communicating with the neighborhood and the board. Your feedback is important to us and helps us to make decisions that are meaningful to the entire Travis Landing community. Cheers, Diane Zbasnik |
